VIRTUS SEGAFREDO BOLOGNA AND FAAC | THE OFFICIAL PRESENTATION OF THE WOMEN’S TEAM

Bologna, Nov. 11 –

The official presentation of Virtus Segafredo women Team was held today at the sponsor company FAAC in Bologna.

The first to take the floor was Andrea Moschetti, CEO of FAAC: “I am extremely satisfied and proud of the results obtained by this team, in fact we make this presentation on the wave of enthusiasm of two excellent wins in the Euroleague, but we are even happier than the one in Polkowice because it represents the first historical one. The goals are ambitious and we are confident that they will be conquered.”

Luca Baraldi, CEO of Virtus Segafredo: “I am proud to be here today, FAAC is an important company that takes Bologna to the world and having its name on our uniforms and in the arena is a source of pride for us. A few years ago Schio gave us an important lesson and I declared that in five years we would beat them. We are extremely proud of our women’s team, capable of winning in Europe for the first time, and starting from that we want to create culture through their achievements. The decision, in fact, to open the Paladozza is a way to give Basket City a wider scope and identify it in its broadest sense. Therefore, I want to thank Andrea Moschetti, and the entire FAAC, who with their support allow us to be taken all over the world by their side, FAAC and Segafredo bring the Italian spirit all over the world and we have to be aware of this.”

Paolo Ronci, General Manager of Virtus Segafredo Bologna: “The Euroleague has placed Virtus 5th in the overall ranking, this suggests we are held in high regard in Europe. There are parallels between the men’s and women’s teams: with the boys, when we were in the BCL, we were not there to go through the rounds and simply play the games, but we played to win it. If you are in Bologna and you have companies like FAAC, the pressure is a good thing, pushing you, and so we hope that this push will give us the ability to understand where we are and how little we lack to reach our goals. I want us to repeat the path of the men’s team and bring home trophies.”

Giampiero Ticchi, Coach of Virtus Segafredo Bologna: “The other night we made Virtus Segafredo history: the girls gave an incredible performance and we fight every day to win. The other big goal is to get more and more people talking culturally about women’s basketball and bring great satisfaction to the club, the sponsors and the city. The girls have the same goals as me, we are extremely happy to be here.”

Sabrina Cinili, captain of the V Nere: “I thank you for the invitation and we are happy with the support we receive, both from society and sponsors. We took the pressure as a challenge, because our goal is to grow further and this gives us the desire to compete further, as we consider ourselves a very competitive team. The first win in the Euroleague is just the first brick for us, and the scudetto represents our goal, we are not hiding.”
