Virtus Segafredo Bologna General Manager Paolo Ronci was a guest on Sky Sport 24: “Our President, Dr. Zanetti, when he took control of the club promised to take Virtus back to the Euroleague and to win the Scudetto, a promise he kept and it is a source of great pride for all of us. Now a new beginning: first of all we have to prepare well for the playoffs, to which we go as Italian Champions and we want to defend our title. Then the Euroleague will be waiting for us next year, in which we want to present ourselves with humility combined with the right ambition, as we are used to doing in the competitions in which we participate. We have had a solid base for a few years now: Teodosic was the first of great champions, then came Belinelli, Hackett, Shengelia, but we have also had players for years, such as for example Kyle Weems and Alessandro Pajola, who have given and give a great contribution for the mental solidity that the team shows. Shengelia arrived at the last moment, now he is very well, he is happy in Bologna also with his family. There is a great feeling with the club: there are very good premises, we will see in the coming weeks but there is a great feeling between us.”
A great European night in Basket City: “Wednesday night was special: Bologna and the Virtussino people had been waiting for this night for a long time. Being able to play at home created a beautiful atmosphere, which we felt a week before after the Valencia win. It gave us a great energy to find the palace full at the entrance of the players: an evening to remember for all the fans and for us, managers, staff and players.”
Last night Paolo Ronci was also a guest on TRC Bologna: “Today we have a great team made up of great players. With the confirmation of a decisive night like Wednesday’s, I can say that ‘I am in love’ with our players. We have playoffs to play, we want to defend the scudetto and I want to enjoy these guys by putting them in the best conditions to do their job. I understand that it’s part of the game to read about names being juxtaposed to our club but I think all the positive energy today should be dedicated to these guys, to defend our title all together.”
