At the end of the game against Polkowicee, Coach Giampiero Ticchi analyzed the game this way: “We came here knowing that we would meet a great team, that plays great basketball, that won the first two Euroleague games so we prepared the game to limit their game from three, since they can shoot with very good percentages. The girls were able to sacrifice in defense and from that point of view they did very good things, as well as in offense where we tried to do simple things. Obviously we are very happy for Virtus Segafredo’s first win in the women’s Euroleague and the girls deserve all the compliments.”
Also with him in the conference was Ivana Dojkic MVP with 24 points: “First I want to congratulate the whole club, the staff and all my teammates for our historic first win in this competition. It’s a very important win for us, after coming very close in the first two games without succeeding, but we learned a lot from those defeats because we know we can improve since the talent is all there. Congratulations again to all the girls, but this has to be just the beginning for us because we have a lot of potential and we want to bring it all out.”
