The post-Italian Cup is all about the National Teams in this first new February window dedicated to qualifying for the European Championships.
Relevant is the weighing of the various collectives that will see Segafredo players involved: 6 on the court, 3 on the bench, 1 on the staff. Opening the series is coach Luca Banchi and Rihards Lomažs’ Latvia, which in Group C on Feb. 22 in Zaragoza pays a visit to defending champions Spain, replicating 3 days later in Riga against Slovakia.
Same dates for the Azzurra National Team (Group B) of Alessadro Pajola and Achille Polonara on court with Matteo Panichi on staff, which hosts Turkey in Pesaro on the 22nd and goes up against Hungary in Szombathely on the 25th. All other bianconeri will take the court on the 23rd and 26th instead.
From Isaia Cordinier, engaged with France (Group E) first in Brest against Croatia then in Bosnia, to Iffe Lundberg’s Denmark (Group G), which opens home on the 23rd with Shengelia’s Georgia and 3 days later flies to Espoo against coach Lassi Tuovi’s Finland.
Also in the same group is Ognjen Dobric and coach Nenad Jakovljević’s Serbia, which crosses Finland on the 23rd at Pionir and flies to Tbilisi on the 26th against Shengelia’s Georgia.
