These were the words of captain Marco Belinelli after the win against Asvel: “It was a difficult game and I’m here to emphasize the game of the ‘reserves,’ if we want to use that term. It’s easy to win when everyone plays well, but today the energy that Achilles gave, the important baskets of Daniel. Usually you read in the newspapers about Toko, about Belinelli, but the amazing thing is that this year we are a special team and we are proving it on the court. Obviously the season is long and we try to go out there and give everything we have. We have something special this year, and I wanted to emphasize that it was a team win but it’s okay to talk, when we have these games, about the ones we talk little about. People who know little about basketball look at the scores, instead this was the game of Daniel Hackett, Achille Polonara, Alessandro Pajola and everyone who did dirty work. Strong teams have this, everyone is important, and tonight we proved it in a tough game against a team that despite the standings is a talented team. It was complicated, until the beginning of the fourth quarter we were down. Then the energy, the will to win that we have and especially those who went on the court in the last quarter were key. That was where we won the game, now let’s think about the next one. I’m really proud to be the captain of this team and to have a great coach and a great staff.”
