Bologna –
After the win against Costa Masnaga in the first game of playoff quarterfinals, Ivana Dojkic, who ended the night with 29 points (3/8 from two, 7/10 from three and 2/2 at the free-throws) said: “We followed the game plan and what we worked on during these days of training. We had to impose our physicality and play smart on offense and we did that. We still have something to improve, because today we shot well from three, things that we won’t always be able to do because we will face a tougher defense and therefore we have to improve in offensive spacing. Defensively we continue like we did tonight from the second quarter on.”
Along with the Croatian to pull Virtus along was Cecilia Zandalasini, 27 points (4/7 from two, 6/8 from three and 1/1 at the free throws): “We wanted to play a good game because two weeks ago Costa had put us in serious trouble at home. We really wanted to be ready for the start of these playoffs and we are very happy about that. It’s only the first game but I think we sent a good signal: now we will already start thinking about the next one, with a lot of confidence in our means.”
