Voted MVP of the Supercup and also the competition’s best assistman, Toko Shengelia dragged Segafredo to win its third consecutive Supercup, scoring 13 points in the semifinal with Milano and 15 points with 12 rebounds in the final game against Brescia.
“We did our job, the first goal of the season we achieved as a team. There is a beautiful atmosphere in the team, coming from our fans and inside the locker room. I am really proud of my teammates, staff and all the people who work in this club: happy and proud to be here. I’m not here to talk about individual stats, the team did a great job, we played well on defense and on offense we ran and helped each other, with attention to rebounds.”
Was the Italian Cup final still on his mind? “To be honest it was still on our minds, in the Italian Cup Brescia had been ready physically right away. Today we were ready for that as well and we wanted to be the ones to impose the pace and physicality and we did that.”
