The words of Virtus Segafredo Bologna President Massimo Zanetti during the presentation at Farete: “I thank the city and the mayor who support and help not only us, but also our cousins. I thank Calzolari, patron of the Fair. And I also thank the Bologna business community for all they do for the fabric of the city and also for Virtus through sponsorships. Basketball is just passion, the only revenue comes from sponsors and fans, it’s not like soccer. So I hope other entrepreneurs, who are watching us today, will put their hand on their heart, and if they want to help us they are welcome. Now a new season begins, I am convinced that I have made a team at least as strong as last year’s, the hope is that it will be even stronger. The goal is to win, starting with the Supercup, but above all to make the Euroleague playoffs because Bologna deserves to be in the Euroleague since it has won it twice.”
Captain Marco Belinelli’s statements, “We are charged up, it will be a long championship. We want to create a good group, we know that expectations are high, but we want to make our fans proud. Last year there were not exciting results, but the atmosphere that was created between the team and fans was something unique, so we want to do well to make our fans proud.”
