Bologna, August 21 –
Virtus Bologna’s new season will officially begin on Monday, August 24, with the team’s first practice at Casa Virtus Alfasigma. After the first few days of arrivals and settling in, which included routine medical checkups and getting acquainted with the Porelli gym, the team will gather on Monday morning under the guidance of head coach Daniele Parente, awaiting the return of head coach Alex Mumbrù from national team duty. It will be a reduced-roster start, as, in addition to the coach, four Virtus players are currently with their respective national teams: Francesco Ferrari and Tommaso Baldasso with Italy, Aliou Diarra with Mali, and Bobi Klintman with Sweden.
Until the full squad is assembled, practices will be held behind closed doors. All Virtus fans will have the opportunity to enjoy the customary season-opening fan gathering in early September, when Coach Mumbrù and the four players currently with their respective national teams arrive in Bologna to complete the Virtus Bologna roster.
