Bologna –
In the year of the big step Leo Menalo, 20 years old from Split and Gora Camara, 21 years old from Dakar, open their season united by a plan: to give depth and rotation to a team full of champions and talent. What is now on the horizon, after two different paths, is in line with a season in which opportunities between Championship, Supercup, Italian Cup and Euroleague will flourish for everyone and raising the bar will be a daily, almost monastic exercise of patience.
208 cm for 95 kg, Menalo is Croatian only because he has known basketball mainly in Italy and especially in Rome, with his three years at Stella Azzurra in A2: a combo forward who can open the court and handle the ball for perimeter plays. Camara’s, on the other hand, is a return, after his 214 cm gained experience in Casale and Pesaro. A center with relevant athletic skills, in recent seasons he has also improved his ability to move inside the area, where he now has considerable ability to also hit behind the basket and better ball receiving timing. His important physicality also allows him good coverage on the defensive end, both with the weapon of the stoppage and with an ability to read the opponent’s offense that has improved over time.
