After the win against Schio in the Italian Supercup final and after raising the first trophy in the history of Virtus Segafredo Bologna women’s team, coach Vincent spoke to LBF microphones. These are his words, “I am lucky to have been called by a beautiful club, it is the dream of every coach to come to Virtus, Basket City in Europe. We are the women’s side, but we try to bring the fans a balance with the men’s side, to bring a positive signal to women’s basketball with this trophy. It’s just an early season game, we are aiming higher and higher. We try to play a lot together, to find solutions with a game we try to build that is suitable for this team. We don’t always succeed, but we go on day by day and only in this way can we get to the top. The girls have been looking for a trophy for 3 years that they have never won. I am really happy, we have worked well since the beginning of the season. We definitely need to improve, especially on offense, defensively we did quite well but on offense we need to work a lot.”
Lauren Cox, MVP of the Italian Super Cup, also made a brief appearance to LBF cameras. “I’m really excited, I know this team has never won a Super Cup and I wouldn’t have been able to do what I did without my team, this is the real trophy for us, we really wanted it playing together. We have great team chemistry, even off the court, and that helps us so much right on the court.”
