Bologna, November 19 –
At the end of the game against Oxygen Roma, valid for Round 8 of Techfind Serie A1, these were the words of coach Pierre Vincent: “We played a great game in attack, we scored everything and our difficulty is that we have a team that can shoot well, but sometimes we shoot too much and we lack some alternation. We have to look for easy baskets, when we don’t score we try without shooting from outside. Today we shot 60 per cent from three and after that it is easier, but it is also true that we played pretty good defence today. In the second quarter I liked the ability to adapt, that’s our difficulty. All teams propose different things, Romeo is not easy to defend, you have to understand how to do it and make clear choices. They are individual choices but linked to a collective process, and sometimes we get the options wrong because they are afraid of getting beat on one side. When we make choices, though, that’s how it is and we are organised for that, it’s something we have to improve on in tough games. It is important not to leave easy baskets, in the first quarter we left some but then less. Praga is a physically impressive team, they have athletic 1.90m girls who change everywhere, it will be tactically difficult to find solutions in attack and defensively to manage the 1vs1. It will be difficult to defend against them.”
Chiara Consolini, MVP of the match, also spoke to the post-match microphones: “It was a good match for us, we managed to put on the court what we had prepared and have been preparing since the beginning of the season. It was a good match from the point of view of attitude, we all came in very ready and I am very satisfied with the team’s collective effort. I’m happy to have given my contribution to the team and I hope to be able to do so for the next matches as well. It’s always nice to see so much affection from the public, we’re happy about that. We hope to involve more and more people in the arenas where we play.”
