At the end of the game against Sesto San Giovanni, valid for the Round 25 of Techfind Serie A1, these were the words of coach Pierre Vincent: “I heard coach Zanotti talk about shooting percentages and we struggled. We have a team that can shoot well from 3-point range, we had a lot of open shots available but we missed a lot. We were able to find some layups and easy baskets at the beginning of the game, but in the second half we struggled to find those shots again, we only shot from 3 without taking advantage especially during turnovers. At the end we managed to find some points under the iron, but missed extra free throws. Geas played very well on defense, it was not easy to score. We took a very good step forward. The only thing that bothers me is the management of the context: in the end we gave away a lot of free throws, there are situations where it is not necessary to whistle foul but we must not put ourselves in a position to allow the referee to whistle. We have to control ourselves because it is so important to find points from free throws when we can’t score in other ways. I am very happy with Barberis and Del Pero’s game. Barberis did a great job defensively and understands the game well, grabbed rebounds and is a true team player. Del Pero had lost some confidence, it’s a game where she showed she could defend well on Wadoux and score a shot.
