These are the words of coach Giampiero Ticchi, at the end of the game against Brixia Basket, which saw Virtus Segafredo win: “My compliments for the first quarter because we faced Brescia with the right intensity and the right attitude and we had very high percentages in attack. I’m less happy with the second and third quarters because we lowered the pace, while we must always keep our foot on the accelerator even if instinctively we feel like relaxing: we conceded a few too many offensive rebounds and a few more lost balls, so we have to polish these details.
In the next two games we will have to repeat our first quarter as much as possible, paying attention to every detail: in some games we are aware that we are stronger, but out of respect for the opponent we must always give our best.”
Olbis André also commented on the team’s performance: “It was certainly an important game, especially after a few days off and the defeat in the Euroleague, so we had to produce a solid performance for the continuation of our path. Now we have several close and very important games: we will have to work on our cynicism, an aspect on which we perhaps sinned in the first round, taking advantage of the league games to be at our best in the Euroleague appointments.”
