Bologna –
These are the words of Kitija Laksa released to the Corriere di Bologna: “We are where we all wanted to be, the victory in the semifinals brought us one step closer to the big goal but the work is not over yet. We are just curious to find out who we will face but it doesn’t matter who it is. It will in any case be a great final, one of the best ever played in Italy. Then there is the PalaDozza factor. It is something special, people support us so much and we can’t wait to take the court again in front of such a crowd. Last year the atmosphere I experienced for the final, even if as an opponent, was fabulous. PalaDozza is a great place in a fabulous city, and the support the fans have given us all year has been fantastic.”
The season? We had a lot of ups and downs. The Euroleague we didn’t start very well but as rookies we can only learn from this season, the defeat in the Italian Cup is not a good memory but this must help us to be even hungrier for the final.
Being together as a team in the good and the bad and finding ways to win by playing together-this is the recipe for winning. When we play as a team and have the right chemistry no one can stop us, we have shown that by playing beautiful basketball as well and we have to approach the final like that.
Best-of-3 finals? There is no room for mistakes. Maximum concentration: you can’t afford to have im bad day.
We know that the first time would never be forgotten, but all this enthusiasm does not distract us from the work we have to complete.
It will not be an easy final, we will have to be focused to the max because to get to the Scudetto it will not be enough to win one, but we will need two.
How do you find yourself in Bologna? I love being here and I love the passion in the city and at the games. But the most important thing is the wonderful
group that has been created. Being good players helps on the court, but it is when the team is made up of great people that the magic happens. We are proud of what we have achieved so far, but the most important games will come now.”
