San Martino di Lupari, Jan. 8 –
After the game against Fila San Martino di Lupari, won by the bianconere with a score of 57-80, coach Giampiero Ticchi commented on his team’s performance this way:
“For us, the game did not get on the best track at the beginning, although we knew that San Martino is a very good team and would have put us in difficulty, if we also take into account the previous game in which they also put Schio in serious difficulty. We had put in the game plan a great aggressiveness right from the start, as is in the ropes of Lorenzo Serventi’s teams, which perfectly follows his dictates: however, we were good at overcoming the moment of difficulty and bringing out the quality of our game, showing a choral performance involving all the elements.
Energy management? Yes we had a very physically and mentally demanding December, but I think the most difficult moment has been overcome: there will always be complicated moments, but the enthusiasm that is transmitted I think can be very good fuel.”
In the press conference, Olbus André, 15 points and 5 rebounds for her, also reviewed the match in the postgame:
“We were aware that we were facing a tough and combative team, capable of giving so much on this court. First half more complicated, where maybe there was still some dross from Valencia, compared to the second half where we were able to loosen up and play better by fixing some details.
Good performance? Yes, I am very happy with my performance but I think that every great result depends on the ability of the teammates to put you in the conditions to achieve it and for that I thank my teammates for putting me in the ideal conditions.
Now we have important games ahead of us, both in the Euroleague and in the league, so we will try to work as best we can to make sure we are in the most favorable conditions and perform at our best.”
