Bologna –
Coach Sergio Scariolo spoke in a press conference after the game with Tortona: “Good game, I had the feeling right away that we were inside the game the right way. We tried a bit to overdo it in the first quarter, conceding a lot of counterattacks to Tortona. However, the team was there, it was toned, we limited mistakes and maintained a good intensity. However, in the playoffs there is nothing more than putting a point in the pocket, resting and thinking about the next one, where further adjustments and corrections will be needed. In the beginning we also attacked the area well but they, with good judgment, closed in and we were not able to recognize that. When we realized that this choice of Tortona was leaving more space in the perimeter we had more patience and breathing room, the ball circulated better and at that point they were correct in coming out of the area. The contribution of the bench? We changed quintet, we changed rotations and we found ourselves having a better balance although it doesn’t have to be like that all the time, there is no mathematical parameter otherwise you wouldn’t even play the game. Today after 2′ we had to change one of the choices we had made because Cordinier had immediately made the second foul. Beyond the points, the attitude and the right face everyone had.”
