The words of Assistant Coach Iacopo Squarcina on the eve of the Championship game: “We are returning to the field after 48 hours from the challenge with Bayern Munich and it is something we have to get used to because it will happen often during the season, moreover the Championship match is a prelude to another busy week of European trips. We face Verona, a newly promoted but talented team with several strengths, led by a head coach, Coach Ramagli, who is an absolute guarantee. They can count on the talent of outside players such as Cappelletti and Anderson, the ability to create beyond the arc with several shooters and the high shooting pecentages prove it since they are at the top in both made and percentages. Another strength is offensive rebounds and recovered balls, a sign of an experienced team. We will have to be good at impacting them physically, pairing up with their shooters and trying to turn up the pressure as we did in the last Euroleague challenge. We’ll have to be more aggressive throughout the whole 40′ of the game and, trying to bring the game home on a hot court like Verona’s, surely can give us stimulation in anticipation of the double European trip.”
