Pesaro, March 17 –
Coach Luca Banchi’s words at the end of the game against Carpegna Prosciutto Pesaro: “I find myself commenting on an ugly defeat, paying for the energy of our opponents who, as expected, played with the determination of those who try to take advantage of every opportunity to gain an advantage. We struggled in rebounding, we struggled to execute on offense with our usual fluidity and do so with continuity, I think the number of second possessions conceded to our opponents, the number of lost balls and the percentages at the free are testament to a contest we struggled to address. Every time we gained advantages including the one that could have been decisive, at the conclusion of regulation time, we did not have the lucidity to find the plays we needed to close out the game. I archive with bitterness and disappointment a contest that we were not able to direct as we should have, while giving credit to our opponents who played with great energy as expected and tried to field that aggressiveness to which we were not always able to respond as we should have.”
