LBA, QF Game-1 | Coach Scariolo’s pre-game: “EuroCup effort absorbs a lot of energy but our season is not over”

In doubt for tomorrow’s game are Milos Teodosic and Daniel Hackett due to ankle sprain problems reported during the EuroCup final against Bursaspor.

Coach Sergio Scariolo spoke on the eve of Game 1 of the playoff quarterfinals against Pesaro: “With the EuroCup win we consolidated the chemistry and the group even more. It is also true that the cup then produces a tremendous absorption effect in terms of physical and mental energy. We will have to make an extra effort to be competitive right away. Pesaro won so many point-to-point games, they got many choices right in the decisive moments. They are back in the playoffs after so many years so they will certainly be eager to do well. Winning the EuroCup in the immediate term doesn’t help, because obviously you have achieved perhaps the main goal of the season. However, we talked to each other, the season is not over: the team when it counts can respond competitively, with mutual trust. Let’s wrap this great victory with a nice bow and think about the next obstacles. Yesterday’s celebration? It’s nice when you can share a sporting achievement that makes so many people happy, and sharing it with so many people was special. The feeling of having done something chased for a long time by so many people was important.”
