Marco Belinelli, author of 20 points, spoke after the win over Tortona: “We showed once again that we are a united team, everyone contributed and that’s what counts. Tomorrow is another day, tomorrow will be another game, both Brescia and Pesaro play good basketball. We will try to be ready, a final is always a final and we will give everything, as always for us, for the club and for our fans.”
Semi Ojeleye also spoke after the game, “We started the game very well, the coach asked us to put physicality and intensity right away and we did that. The quintet that started the game started really well; Daniel, Kyle, Mam, Milos, Toko had a great start. However, our work is not finished: we will soon find out our opponent tomorrow, we have to recover our energy and be ready right away. We have physical players, talented players, we have to play together as we did, that has to be our mentality.”
Kyle Weems’ comment: “I am proud of my coach and my team, they always believe in me. Sometimes during the season there have been ups and downs but I have always been so appreciative of everyone’s trust in me and I always have to repay them. Winning is the reason why we are here, of course we all know the importance of this competition especially because the club has not won this cup for so long. We have to be focused: tonight we have to eat well, rest well, sleep and come back tomorrow with the same mentality. Both Brescia and Pesaro are two physical teams, we will have to be ready. Virtus’ best game of the season? Definitely maybe one of the best nationally: sometimes we did not play well but tonight we exploited our potential well, especially in the post where we have capable players. By doing that we were able to play with energy.”
