On Saturday, Dec. 16, at the game against Geas Sesto San Giovanni, a delegation from AGD Bologna, Young Diabetics Association, came to cheer on Virtus Segafredo Bologna women’s team.
AGD is a voluntary association that supports research for the treatment of Type 1 diabetes at the city and international level.
The group, composed of young people and their parents, with the guidance of President Salvatore Santoro had the opportunity to meet our own Lauren Cox, a player with the condition of Type 1 diabetes. Before the customary photos with the boys, Lauren answered their questions about her career as a professional player at high levels and the management of the condition.
It was a meeting that provided a special day for the kids in attendance and a reminder of the importance of diabetes prevention and research.
