Bologna –
At the end of the match against Gyor, valid for the 9th round of EuroLeague Women, these were the words of coach Pierre Vincent: “I am very happy with this victory, especially for the girls who work so hard and always try to give their best. We work every day on our weaknesses to improve and all the girls are always ready to show what they can give to the team. Regarding our defensive performance, we did much better in the second half of the game than in the first half. With this type of defense we struggled initially, but I see improvement and that is the important thing. We have always been able to get back into games when we struggle, we fight until the end and sometimes it is difficult to handle emotions, but the girls always try to follow the game plan and have confidence. We have lost some games under pressure, but this is a step forward we need to take to be able to handle the moments when we are point-to-point. We have very tough games ahead of us in the league to end the season, and when pieces are missing, like Dojkic tonight, it is always more complex.”
Instead, these were the words of Haley Peters: “First of all, it was important for us to return to victory. We have been working hard all month and winning games always helps the whole team. We need to keep training to build on what we’ve been working on and hopefully we’ll reach the Christmas break with a few more wins. From tomorrow we will focus on working for the game against Geas, there are many aspects we can improve on, especially on defense.”
