At the end of the last practice before the trip to Mont de Marsan, these were the words of coach Pierre Vincent: “Basket Landes is a particular team, the players are all very aggressive. They don’t shoot with very high percentages from long distance but they are fast, from the point guards to the guards but also the wings. The players who play at the 3 position are athletic and have good qualities, while under the basket they have interesting players, not very tall but capable of shooting from 3, playing post-up and attacking off the dribble. It will be difficult for us to defend this team, we should control the area well. The Landes court is really tough, I come from this area of France and the arena is always full, there is a nice basketball culture. Compared to Villeneuve d’Ascq it’s a different team, the guards are faster and that will be one of our main difficulties. The long ones are athletic, but with different characteristics than Villeneuve. Basket Landes beat Salamanca by 20 points and they know how to play tough games, they played well in Mersin and against Prague, they stayed focused for all 40 minutes. For us it will be a tough and very important game, we won in Gyor and against our direct opponents but finding more points is always important for the final standings.”
