Euroleague Women, Round 11 | The statements of protagonists

Istanbul –

At the end of the game against Fenerbahce, Coach Ticchi commented on the game this way: “Very difficult game against the best team in Europe with so many dominant players. In the first minutes we entered perhaps with too much reverential fear and it conditioned us: after that, the girls had the merit of reacting and playing aggressively, playing point to point until 8 minutes from the end. Experience and our fatigue dug the gap, but for 30 minutes we played good basketball, perhaps with a few too many lost balls. However, I am happy with the test because against one of the best teams in Europe we showed that with some small improvements we can get very close to them.”

Kitija Laksa, scorer of 29 points, also commented on the game this way: “We managed the first three quarters very well before the game slipped out of our hands in the last quarter: Fenerbahce we know, is really a very difficult team to play against because they are really strong, but today we really came close even if it was not enough. In the last quarter we simply lacked the energy to hold their pace.

The goals do not change: we will continue to play and improve, analyzing what our mistakes were in games like today.”
