Coach Giampiero Ticchi spoke in a press conference after the Valencia game: “We lost a tough game. I think we played good basketball especially in the beginning, especially in the second quarter and we could have closed at halftime with a larger lead. Some situations in the second half changed the game, looking at the statistics we had too many lost balls to try to win an away Euroleague game. We shot well from three but it was not enough because of too many lost balls. In the final the game was decided by an episode, maybe Valencia had more nastiness to win.”
Also speaking at the press conference was Kitija Laksa: “Obviously we were very charged up for the start of the Euroleague. Valencia is a great team, they have experienced players but we started in the right way. In the end unfortunately we lost but it remains a good match from our side.”
