Coach Scariolo’s words on the eve of the Madrid match: “Real Madrid is obviously one of the top teams in this competition, in the last ten years they have always remained at a very high level, they have played several Final Fours and some of the players we have already seen in those circumstances. It’s going to be a really tough challenge for us, but I think we have made some progress since last week: we have worked on the chorus of the team, some players have improved their form. I think we could extend the minutes of good basketball then obviously against Real Madrid it is never enough. Our goal though is to stay focused on ourselves: to improve, we have to treat the ball well, take better shots and increase our desire and ability to share the ball. We will have to be solid on defense, especially defensive rebounds. We have several goals in front of us that are difficult to achieve against a strong team like Real but at the same time we have a clear idea of what we are up against. We go to Madrid to improve and compete.”
Alessandro Pajola’s words on the eve of the game: “We face a tough challenge on the road, against an experienced, deep and physical team but we are motivated to try to prove we are a team that can win away from home, especially on a court like Real Madrid’s. We have been training in the right way, we come from a good win at home. We will have to play as hard as we can and go there to win.”
