Coach Scariolo’s words on the eve of the challenge: “The first game after the Nationals’ windows is always complex. Compared to Valencia we have a different situation: they had all the players available and so they will come very prepared, with a very long roster, they have reinforced especially in the guards’ department. We still have some situations in doubt about our players and we will have to understand who we can count on. Valencia is perhaps the team in the best form of the moment, they have won four of the last five games including the victories in Athens and with Efes but perhaps the game that impressed me the most was the one lost on the last shot against Fenerbahce. This is a team with a very high shooting potential, almost all the players are skilled in shooting from long distance, they have a very high pace and intensity. Right now they are one of the toughest opponents to meet. We will have to make a great effort, also counting on the help of our fans: the key will be to stay focused for the entire 40 minutes and always have the knife between our teeth throughout the game.”
The words of Mam Jaiteh on the eve of the match: “Valencia is a good team, they come from a very good moment, they won the last four games out of five and the one they lost they lost by only two points. We will have to be extremely focused and ready to defend our home factor: it will be a tough match but we will have to find the right key to win.”
