Berlin, 9 March –
These are the words of coach Sergio Scariolo in the post-game: “The ones who were here played well; I mean, everyone. I don’t have complaints about anyone. We started the game the right way, we kept our foot on the gas. They had a couple of comebacks, but we managed to regain control of the situation, especially in sharing the ball and [getting] defensive stops. The last three or four minutes were a little bit sloppy, but the game was already over. I’m happy overall with the performance of the team.
“I’m very satisfied with the performance of my team. We have to put things in perspective: ALBA Berlin beat Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade a couple of weeks ago; two days ago, they were one inch from beating Zalgiris. I think we had the right approach. From the very beginning, we put the game on the right track and we kept our foot on the gas. Maybe we found a little trouble in the third quarter, they came back to 8, but we managed to reopen a good gap, and everybody contributed. I think we shared the ball very well: 27 assists are really good numbers. When you pass the ball and share the ball, shooting percentages get automatically higher. On the defensive end, more than a couple of times we lost vision on cuts to the rim, but overall we were locked in, everybody was trying, so I’m happy about the game.”
