Coach Luca Banchi spoke in press conference after the game against Cremona : “A difficult game as in the premise, we were good at playing with balance and patience. In the first 20′ we didn’t make the most of the advantages we built, then we found more lucidity. We were able to run the court better and take advantage: in the final the team was good and careful, we file the third away win on difficult courts like Cremona, Trapani and Venice. Now we look ahead, we have a week with three commitments in which we will have to be ready and respond with intensity. A team like Cremona engages you defensively, always having three players on the court who can build a lot off the dribble. We paid for it in the first half, even looking at the rebounds conceded: defensively in the second half the conditions for the win were born. On offense we distributed the ball well, everyone was ready to take advantage of opportunities. Cremona played very aggressively, slowly we exploited the advantages we wanted, finding shots with better rhythm and better quality. Diouf? The injury emergency over-exposed him than expected and he was forced to get in tune with the team right away. Last season he played only 12 games because of injuries, this year at the end of October he will have already played more games.
He is a guy who wants to take advantage of his opportunities: tonight he was not always careful in taking advantage, these are details he can work on and improve. To date he has an exposure that is above the premise but he is responding well: it should also be added that his usage is similar in the Euroleague, where he is making his debut. He is approaching with enthusiasm and energy; the team is also appreciating that his characteristics are helping. There is, as a matter of course, ample room for improvement, but he is also guaranteeing us so much in the Euroleague, where the level grows exponentially.”
