The ideas, thoughts and anxieties of Gaia, Luca, Riccardo, Alessio and Valentina, the young illustrators of the RicreaMente Association, guided and coordinated by Andrea Querzè, put on paper and available to their peers. This is the message of the book ‘Impossible is not forever,’ created by the youngsters during the workshop ‘The Room of Art and Wellness’ and intended to serve as a mirror for their peers. The book was presented yesterday, Tuesday, Nov. 21, at the Bimbo Tu – Pass headquarters on Via Roma, 2 in San Lazzaro di Savena.
Present at the presentation were writer Filippo Venturi and Alessandro Pajola, as well as author Andrea Querzè and Bimbo Tu director Cora Querzè.
Proceeds will support art and expressive language projects within the departments of Neurosurgery and Child Neuropsychiatry, particularly in support of boys and girls with Eating Disorders, at Bellaria Hospital.
Data from health facilities and the Ministry of Health show that Eating Disorders are often related to low levels of self-esteem and can occur in association with other mental disorders, such as anxiety disorders and mood disorders. Moreover, these disorders represent an important Public Health problem, given also the progressive lowering of the age of onset, so much so that diagnoses in preadolescence and childhood are increasingly common.
This is precisely why it is increasingly important to create meeting and listening spaces for children and young people so that we can defuse those mechanisms of social pressure and clinical perfectionism, typical of disorders such as these. The goal of the book linking the RicreaMente and Bimbo Tu associations is precisely to create spaces free of prejudice, inside and outside the wards.
