Bologna –
Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna S.p.a. announces that, today, the Collegio Permanente di Conciliazione ed Arbitrato at the Lega Basket Serie A, chaired by Prof. Carlo Zoli, published the arbitration award whereby, in acceptance of the appeal brought by the company, defended by Lawyer Mattia Grassani of Bologna, the sports performance contract with the player Devontae Calvin Cacok was declared terminated, as of September 30, 2024, declaring the employment bond that existed between the parties.
The reasons for the decreed termination of the contractual relationship and, therefore, of the registration in the federal sphere, with the American athlete derive from the long hospitalization resulting from the injury sustained on December 28, 2023 during the Euroleague match against Partizan Belgrade, which, almost a year later, renders the player, to this day, unfit for sporting activity.
The club, in compliance with the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement, will maintain its commitment to provide health care to the player until December 31, 2024, wishing him the best of luck in recovering the optimal physical and athletic condition for the continuation of his career.
