After the game against Lietkabelis, coach Scariolo spoke in press conference: “First of all, a big applause to our opponents who played a great season and tonight they showed why they are the second best defense in the EuroCup. A big applause also to my guys: our game was solid, especially defensively: we were patient despite missing a few too many open shots. We continued to move the ball and pass the ball to each other: we have to be optimistic after this first step, we look forward. All the victories that make you qualify for a next round have a huge value: there are teams that had been brilliant in the Regular Season that have been eliminated. Victories are never a given. The next game will be even harder because I don’t remember another team that has slapped us like Ulm did this season. What didn’t go wrong tonight? I have to review the game, I didn’t like not converting open shots or free throws that would have given us more serenity. I have to review the game though: we cooperated well on offense and defensively we held until the end.”
