Playing one game a week I obviously had time to watch more competitions, including Virtus Segafredo and Coach, it is not a new situation for me having been coached by Coach Banchi before. My main task is to learn from my teammates and give them what they need, he is a coach I know very well and it is very nice to be here with him. I don’t think there are one or two strengths in this team, being used to the coach’s system of play you play as a team, there are not only go-to-guys, but you play as a team with, of course, very experienced and talented players and Virtus’ victories represent that, team victories, there is not only one protagonist, and that’s what Coach is asking us also in the National team. Certainly compared to the National Team, the way of preparing the games will be different, this week we will face another double-week and we will have little time to prepare them, having said that the system does not change, and in general I have not seen big differences with the National Team. From the physical point of view I feel very good, I’m not worried about playing two close games, because we are a team of 15 players and it can happen to play 5′, 10′, 20′ per game, definitely it’s a different situation from Turkey where I had 30-35′ per game, but I’m fine, I just have to prepare my physique for this type of season. I am here to help the team, the coach and the staff, to do what will be required of me, I am coming in a very positive situation, the team is doing very well.I am in contact with other Latvian players playing in Italy, but when Virtus Segafredo called me I said yes right away, I didn’t need to ask anything, I just said yes.”
