These are the statements of Coach Giampiero Ticchi: “We knew we would meet a team in shape that plays well. At the beginning they put us in trouble because we were not intense enough defensively so once we got up the pace things came easier even if their change of defense put us in trouble a bit.
Looking ahead to Game 2 we will make some small adjustments to fix some situations to make our game as effective as possible.
Basket City came through today: it was really beautiful. When the game was over and I really realized how big of a crowd there was, I saw a wall of black and white jerseys and that was incredible. The feelings at the beginning of the game, with the choreography and all the warmth of the crowd are memories that will stay with me forever.”
Ivana Dojkic also analyzed the match, “I think we did well, although there is still room for improvement because we were not able to express 100 percent throughout the match and I hope we will be able to do so in the next one.
Fans? Unbelievable. It’s always great to play in front of a full Paladozza, and I hope there will be even more people in the next games. Personally we play better when we have so many people to support us and we always show it off.
Looking ahead to Game 2 we have to put more mentality, we know it will be a tough match in front of their fans so we start with the idea that it is still a 0-0 situation to approach in the best way.
