Bologna –
These are the words of Beatrice Barberis to the microphones of TRC: “I am proud to have been here for so long and I feel strongly attached to this club also because I feel as if I have contributed to its growth, from the first experiences in Serie A to the Scudetto Finals and the Euroleague. When we take the court we want to put Virtus’ values into practice.
We are coming to the game against Schio much more charged and aware than last years, but we are very excited for the sold out Paladozza that will give us so much charge.
The key? If I had the answer we would be all set. It will only count who will have the most desire, who will believe in it the most and who will be able to file those small details that make the difference for the final result, putting all of ourselves into it.
Playing three competitions instead of five reflects less the values expressed during the season: with five competitions you would have the chance to showcase what has been the balance this year so a lot will change but we will be ready. We earned our first home competition by playing every game like it was really our last.
I physically and mentally feel very good as well as my teammates: we will have to put more intensity and physicality to capture every rebound, run faster and shoot better to win.”
These are the words of Francesca Pasa: “We know that we have to continue along the path we have taken this season. We are also growing in terms of awareness and the injuries have then further consolidated the group.
I was coming from an injury but physically I am fine now and I want to continue to do well for the team and for my teammates.
A full Paladozza is an absolutely positive factor for us because it makes us feel all the support we have around us. In the past so many people have followed us live but seeing even more people makes us realize how heartfelt this final is.
In the team there is a lot of confrontation, we talk a lot with each other. Those who have already gone through these experiences are acting as nurturers to their younger teammates with advice and support because I repeat, we are a very united group and this is our strength. We all trust each other.
Compared to last season I have gained more awareness and that I have grown. Certainly playing in this club and with these teammates helps to improve and take this conviction necessary for important growth.”
