Bologna, November 26 –
On the occasion of the LBA Unipol 2025/26 match against Bertram Derthona Tortona (Monday 8 December, 6.30 pm), Virtus Olidata Bologna will pay tribute to Marco Belinelli’s extraordinary career with a special evening: “Belinight”. After ending his career on the court, Marco began a new journey as Brand Ambassador and Basketball Advisor at Virtus, bringing to the company the skills he acquired over the years in the world of basketball. The club has decided to celebrate the athlete and symbol that is Belinelli, who is still an integral part of the Vu Nera world. Marco has meant a lot to Italian and world basketball, but he has also symbolised his city and the black and white colours: he began his career at Virtus (1 Italian Cup) and returned after great successes at home and abroad (the only Italian ever to win the NBA ring), his return to Virtus – later as captain and leader of the dressing room – culminated in a long string of successes (2 Scudetti, 3 Super Cups and 1 Euro Cup).
A limited edition commemorative T-shirt has been created for the evening in collaboration with adidas and will be available for purchase on match day at the Virtus Arena shop and, from the following day, at the official store. The day’s events will begin before the match, so we strongly recommend arriving at the Virtus Arena well in advance if you wish to participate fully in the celebrations. The gates will open at 5 p.m., when you can watch the commemorative match organised by the youth sector in the shopping mall’s playground, to remember Beli’s journey before joining the first team. At the end of the match, at 5.45 p.m., there will be a Meet & Greet with Belinelli in the mall. At 6.15 p.m., during the pre-match, a video tribute to his career will be presented, followed by the presentation of a gift from the club on the court. This will be followed by the Half Time Show, which will celebrate Beli’s victory in the 3-point contest at the 2014 NBA All-Star Game in New Orleans with the “Virtus 3-point contest”.
With this event, Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna celebrates a symbol of our sport, our city and our club.
