Bologna, September 12 –
Luca Vildoza, Virtus Bologna’s new signing for the 2025/26 season, was presented at the Paladozza. The Argentine brings his international experience and expertise gained at the highest European level to the Bianconeri.
“Dusko? He was very important in my decision. I wanted to come here and play an important role. I also had my role at Olympiacos, but I chose Virtus and I’m very happy about it. I expect the best from this season.
Bologna? I expect the same warmth I have already experienced in other cities where basketball is an incredible passion. Walking around the city, I have already seen many people who are close to the sport and the team. Maybe it can’t be compared to the “madness” you experience in Serbia, or maybe it can, but I know that the fans here are special and I can’t wait to share the atmosphere with them.
To my teammates who are making their EuroLeague debut, I say it will be very tough. The level is very high, especially for rookies, but we are here to support each other and grow together. I hope that my experience, together with that of the veterans, can help the younger players. Tomorrow’s friendly match against Bayern Munich? I’m excited, I can’t wait to compete with the team and against a Euroleague side. It’s good for us to face them, it will allow us to work on our game, on attack and defence, to prepare for the first official match.
What kind of basketball will we play? We will have to defend strongly; we want this to be our identity: defence, character and mentality. There are many new players, so we must work hard for our place in the Euroleague and demonstrate that we are here to compete and win.
The Italian championship? Virtus won the title last year and the goal is to work to repeat that. We have the quality and the team to do it, but we are still at the beginning: it takes time to get to know each other and build the right chemistry. It’s a long process, but I’m confident we can go all the way.
