Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna S.p.a., in the person of its legal representative pro tempore, Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Luca Baraldi, having regard to the news spread, on yesterday, September 19, during the Virtussini Siamo Noi radio program on Radio Basket Italia, taken up by some newspapers and specialized sites, concerning the alleged opposition of the Chief Executive Officer to the completion of “extra budget” market operations authorized by the shareholders and identified by the technical department, intends to clarify the following.
In the administrative management of Virtus Pallacanestro Bologna S.p.a., 2024-2025 sports season, there is no “extra budget” approved by the Board to be allocated to further market operations and, consequently, the alleged opposition to such market movements attributed to the Chief Executive Officer turns out to be completely groundless and false.
In light of the above, it is incumbent upon us to provide prompt denial of what has been improperly circulated.
Rather, true is that the Board of Directors, of the September 13 meeting, deliberated and ratified the budget for what had been perfected in the market up to the present, while it made no determination on alleged new resources to be invested for the roster.
The news, therefore, must be considered entirely untrue and the result of fictional assumptions.
In inviting all the Bodies of Information to the most scrupulous verification of sources in order not to spread erroneous news with the risk of fueling unnecessary controversy, apt to destabilize the virtussino environment and the serenity of the team, the writer reiterates, even if this seems superfluous, the full compactness and unity of views within the management of the club, as well as the total confidence in the group entrusted to coach Banchi that is approaching, with great enthusiasm, the imminent start of the sports season.
