“We have to make sure that the court factor is conditioning.” Speaking during LBA’s Media Day and to the Resto del Carlino is Alessandro Pajola, the point guard who with captain Belinelli played in all four of the last finals between Virtus and Milan. “We will have to be good at taking the energy our people will give us from the stands and reproduce it on the court. We know what our fans can give us and it’s up to us to receive it in the right way.”
Despite being 24 years old, the director already has a wealth of experience. “I would take Melli away from them because he is a factor on both sides of the court on a physical level and on a leadership level for their team.”
His militancy and having to organize the game for his teammates gives Pajola a special role. “In these situations, experience is measured more by what you do on the court than by words. You have to show that you have the character and the ability to make the right choices. In a final like this both teams are made of champions and even if some of us have never played in the Italian league, they have faced similar games in other parts of Europe and I am sure we are all ready to face this series.”
A certainty that also comes from the season played so far. “We know that we can beat anyone both home and away and at the same time we can fall into bad performances. This is what our past has told us. We know what our limitations are and we need to focus on those strengths that have made us special during the year.”
