At the end of the game against Allianz Geas, valid for the 12th day of Techfind Serie A1, these were the words of coach Pierre Vincent: “It was a game in which we struggled, Geas scored from all sides of the court and they came back into the game well with incredible shots. We stayed focused, we raised our defensive level. Sometimes we make mistakes and lose the thread of the game as well as its collective sense, tonight we managed to overcome this final fear by following right paths on offense and defense. We had options but executing them is never easy, we have to understand how and where to pass the ball, build good shots. With pressure we are not always able to handle this, but it will come. Orsili played very well, it’s not easy for her because she hasn’t played some games, sometimes I put her in and then let her out right away like with Venice. The girls can make mistakes, however, not of understanding, of lack of concentration. She trains seriously and has so much desire to give positive energy to the team. Today I liked how she handled the zone and how she found her way to the basket, because she is very capable of it. Sometimes she focuses too much on things to do and forgets about her qualities, today she found a way to make the team and herself play well. The next games will be really tough, we are waiting for Dojkic who should be back soon and that would be good news for us. We’ve had continuous injuries for a month and a half, but the bench is playing and gaining confidence, which will also be an extra weapon for us when Ivana returns.”
Iliana Rupert also stopped by Made in Bo’s microphones after the game, “It was a really important game for us, the last few weeks have been tough. We kept working and believing in ourselves, we came back to win in the Euroleague after a while and now also in the league, it’s a crucial win. Now we have the trip to Salamanca ahead of us, it will be a tough game and playing in their house is tough. If we work together, especially on defense, we can beat anyone but when we make mistakes we allow our opponents to come back into the game. That’s why Wednesday’s game will be really important.”
