Devontae Cacok is one of Segafredo’s new faces. The U.S. center was immediately enthusiastic during Homecoming Day: “I think the support of the fans is crazy, really special. I’ve only been here for a few days and to see the support the city has for us is really amazing. I’m so excited to be able to play in front of this crowd, give it everything I have and have fun. One of my goals is to help as much as possible to win games, which is the most important thing. Whatever the coach asks of me, I want to give my all to help. I think I bring physicality to the team, solidity, points inside the area. I would like to keep improving, help my teammates and be a good teammate. That’s the kind of person I am and I would like to continue to be, I would like to win as many games as possible. The first few days of training? Everything is going great, I have great teammates, wonderful people. They are very easy-going and it’s easy to bond with them. Today is the first practice where we will have a chance to play more and we can start getting to know our playing styles together. My teammates are great, they help me a lot and they are wonderful people.”
Devontae Cacok is a “product” of UNCW, American University, which also trained another player who passed to bianconero, Blizzard: “It’s crazy. When I signed (Brett) he wrote me the very same day, I told him, ‘I’m going to Bologna.’The fact that we were both in the spotlight at UNCW and then to come and play here at the same club is incredible.I’m excited and would like to do as well as he did!”
