Prague –
These are the statements of coach Giampiero Ticchi: “We faced one of the best European teams. Our start was very good because we wanted to prevent them from running and produce as few turnovers as possible: I think the first goal we managed to clear but the turnovers at the end weighed. They produced 22 points from lost balls while we produced only 4 so the difference is basically here. Despite such a physical team, we managed to play very good plays. We attacked the basket very little but they are really full of talent in every role. We were hoping to end our experience in a better way but the girls still gave 100 percent so we will aim to do better this year.”
These, on the other hand, are the remarks of Iliana Rupert: “We knew that a difficult game awaited us, we were missing two important players. We approached the game well because we were not under pressure since we had nothing to lose, so we just tried to do our best to end the season. I’m happy: as a team we did the best we could against a great team, but I think in general we ended the Euroleague on a crescendo. My Euroleague? It was a tough start for everyone because we are a young team and we didn’t have much chance to reach the quarterfinals at the start which was our main goal. I think we learned that in the Euroleague every mistake counts so this will serve as a lesson for us.”
