Angela Gianolla wins the ‘Antonio Concato’ special prize 2022

Angela Gianolla was awarded the 2022 ‘Antonio Concato’ special prize by the Women’s Basketball League.

Recognition arrived to her by virtue of last season where she first held the role of technical manager, then took over as head coach in the play-offs, leading Virtus Segafredo to the Scudetto final for the first time in its history. An award of great value, then, for a former player capable of following in the footsteps of Beverly Smith, who in 1999 and 2000, was the first female head coach to lead a team to a Scudetto Final.
