Coach Angela Gianolla spoke after the win in game 3: “Down by 15 we were in big trouble even though we had the right attitude. In offense and defense we stopped and Schio was good at punishing us. The last two minutes, however, we didn’t give up: we were lucky on Gruda’s last shot, but obviously it meant that it had to be like that. Playing here in front of so many people was wonderful, a huge emotion for all the girls who put that extra something on the court. Tonight I saw so many people moved and on Thursday we want even more.”
Cecilia Zandalasini also spoke after the game, “I’m in disbelief of what we did. We were down by 15 but we never gave up. Schio is a strong, organized team with many experienced players. We played with our heart and that made the difference. Then Ivana had a great game and an incredible performance. I am very very happy. On Thursday we hope to have even more fans: playing at the Paladozza is a great emotion, seeing it full for women’s basketball has given us enormous strength, especially in difficult moments. Thanks to everyone, I’ll be waiting for you on Thursday because we’ll try to play it again.”
