Official presentation at Virtus Segafredo Arena for Daniel Hackett, who was officially introduced to the media and the press before the game v. Napoli.
With jersey number 23, accompanied by Virtus Segafredo Bologna President Massimo Zanetti, CEO Luca Baraldi and General Manager Paolo Ronci, Hackett commented on his first days in Bologna:
“I want to thank the president for the words he had for me. It’s a great pride to wear this jersey and to wear the Segafredo Zanetti logo. Basket city is a place known all over the world, as well as its fans and Virtus’ trophies. I am really happy with the desire and will that the whole ownership and coach Scariolo had from the beginning to bring me here, since the summer and I am not in the skin anymore I want to start with my teammates and take the court for my new fans. I will put all my experience and commitment to repay this team for their trust.
I see that this company is working hard for its team and I can feel the desire to return to where Virtus deserves to be, at the highest European levels. The facilities and gyms are of the highest level. The team is alive and willing and everyone is talking to each other and I want to serve the team and give my contribution.
Before the game in Munich when we saw the images on television we started to worry seriously because in our staff there were those who are of Ukrainian nationality or who have relatives at the border like Shved. When the Euroleague decided to stop the games the dismantling started. What is happening in Russia however goes far beyond sports and we all hope for the end of the conflict as soon as possible.
I think this team goes beyond Milos and Beli but I can only be happy and excited to play with them who have shown they can win at a very different level. We will do everything to bring victories,I know where they want to go and I am proud to be with them.”
