Virtus wins against Bayern Munich in the final at the Paladozza

Bologna, September 13 –

Virtus Bologna made its debut at the Paladozza, albeit in a friendly match, hosting Bayern Munich in a challenge that we will see again during the Euroleague season. In addition to Diouf, Akele, Niang and Diarra, who have already started individual training and will join the team on Monday along with Pajola (abroad for an institutional commitment with Euroleague), Brandon Taylor is absent due to a knee problem that will be re-evaluated in 7-10 days.

Bayern got off to a better start, although after the first five minutes, Virtus loosened up a bit in front of their fans and began to score baskets in transition. Morgan was one of the most on fire from the start, with McCormack present under the basket and Alston scoring the first Bianconeri points with two three-pointers from the corner. However, Bayern is still in the game and, after a basket by Jallow, who had given Virtus a +7 lead, comes back and the score at half-time is 44-42. The script for the second half did not change, with Virtus trying to pull away and Bayern not giving up: the final was almost point for point, with Jallow bringing everyone together, first defending strongly and then being fouled after a nice rebound in attack. It ended 90-89.
