With the pre-season over, Virtus Segafredo Feminile’s eyes are set on the upcoming LBF Super Cup.
At the end of the training session that precedes the departure to Sardinia, these were the words of Coach Giampiero Ticchi: “We are at the first important game, the first one that counts and that we need to win at a trophy. We will face it at our best, knowing we are not full but without looking for excuses and alibis, trying to do our best to bring the first trophy to Virtus Segafredo in women’s basketball.”
The new captain of the Virtus Segafredo Bologna women’s team, Sabrina Cinili, also spoke on the eve of the Supercoppa: “In the pre-season we had the opportunity to compare ourselves with different teams that allowed us to grow and improve. On the court, among us, we perceive a lot of chemistry an aspect difficult to cultivate in such a short time but this year it was particularly immediate. We are a team of true professionals and I like that very much since we are the first ones to realize that with each practice we are growing. We are definitely not at the top yet, we will need some more time, but both from a technical and physical point of view it has made us reach a good level. In front of us we will have Ragusa in a difficult game, otherwise it would not be a semifinal, but we will at least give our 100 percent: this is the aspect that is making us grow the most. Our intention is to think game by game, aiming of course to win the Super Cup, but without putting unnecessary anxiety on ourselves because at the moment we are all focused to the maximum, from the first to the last. We will have to deserve the results because no one gives anything away but personally for the soul and spirit I have seen them put on the field, both in training and during the games, I wish all my teammates the happiness of starting the season by winning something.”
