These are the words of coach Giampiero Ticchi at the end of the game against Famila Wuber Schio: “Unfortunately we lost, although we didn’t repeat the Supercoppa game so it’s a step forward in our path. I think we played a really good first half even though 4 points lead doesn’t guarantee you enough margin. We knew that they in the second half would take the field with a different grit and it showed in the first 5 minutes that were fatal to us. In the first half we couldn’t stop Verona and in the second half Mabrey came out making important plays. We conceded too many offensive rebounds and too many lost balls, as well as made few assists even though Schio probably takes credit for them. Obviously you can’t expect to win a game with 18 shots difference, but we will work to improve.”
Olbis Andrè also spoke to the microphones, commenting on the game: “Definitely it was a good game, although we both had ups and downs. We are on the right path, we know where to work and we take what good we did to be more competitive next game. We knew they would start the second half differently, but we still weren’t good at limiting them because we paid for that. However, as time went on, we were still able to respond, and I think that is a positive thing to treasure.”
