These are the declarations of coach Giampiero Ticchi, after the game: “Coming back here was very nice for the affection of the public and society: we’re professionals but the feelings remain.
I think the girls did what we had prepared, giving a great defensive and offensive performance, especially in the first half, where we dug the furrow, with a lot of intensity and desire. In the second half we sinned a bit because we lowered the intensity and they managed to find continuity, something we must always prevent. Overall I am happy with the performance we put in today, but we are already looking to the next one.”
Olbis André also commented on his performance: “We certainly didn’t expect such a start, but we went out on the pitch with the intention of playing right away and I think that showed. We work daily on defence in order to be ready and dangerous in attack: we have this as a forma mentis and we always try to apply the dictates. Intensity? Today we put on the court the intensity required by the Euroleague, which for us is over but despite being a young group has given us a lot of experience. This performance I think has certified that as a group, if we apply the game plan, we can do great things”.
